National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition & Language Instruction Educational Programs
This is by far the most comprehensive and informative site on Bilingual Education on the Internet! The National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition & Language Instruction Educational Programs (NCELA) is funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) to collect, analyze, and disseminate information relating to the effective education of linguistically and culturally diverse students in the U.S. Keep informed on important issues relating to the education of linguistically and culturally diverse students by subscribing to NCELA's weekly newsline bulletin.


National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE)
NABE is the national organization for bilingual education. Most states have an affiliate chapter and those with websites are listed below. Visitors to the NABE site can stay up-to-date on advocacy issues and current research on bilingual education. Prospective members may join online. There is also extensive information regarding the annual NABE Conference.

OELA, the Office of Bilingual Education and Minority Language Affairs is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and contains information on bilingual education. OBEMLA was established in 1974 by Congress to help school districts meet their responsibility to provide equal education opportunity to limited English proficient children.
